This is it.

6 months of dreams, drawings, blood, sweat and tears is winding down.  Can't believe how quickly it has happened.  Almost overnight it seems a house has gone up where a huge burn pile once sat for two years. And where huge pine trees stood for hundreds of years before that.

This weekend we all go up and for the first time we'll be staying in the house.  And for three nights too.  Amanda and I threw the mattress and box spring over the upstairs railing today as we're getting things ready for the trip tomorrow.  For the first time in 6 years, my packing routine is different.  This time we're thinking about sheets, towels, refrigerated food, etc.  It's amazing.  I can't wait to walk in and flip a switch and see what has become of something that lived inside my mind for so long.

Every little decision of the house we've all made together, from paint colors, to light fixtures, to light switch placement.  Now, finally, we get to go up, look around, and see what we've created.  Few things compare to the sense of accomplishment and joy this piece of land has brought to me and my family.  An unforgettable six years.
