Jesse's Been Busy

Woah, things are happening fast at the land. The clearing continues to grow and grow. Jesse (our site guy) has been working at the land for over a week straight.  He has done tons of work, from clearing trees for the septic, redirecting more water (seems like 8 out of 10 things we do revolve around making water flow somewhere else), leveling the site, building an access road, and trucking dirt out like a madman.  Chris and I have made a couple of quick trips to check out progress and it blows our mind every time and the building has yet to even begin.  It's going to be a fun summer.

Beam me up, Scotty.

The timber frame is happening, folks.  And we're one step closer to that reality.  In fact, we were able to have many hemlock trees from our property milled to size and those timbers will be used in the build.  It will be pretty awesome to look up and see timbers in the house that came from the property itself.  And, we had a hand in getting this all done. Together, Chris and I rented a trailer and delivered the milled timbers to our builder in NH, where he finalized the sizings.  We made it without any issues, but it got a little sketchy the last few miles.  Well worth it though.  Our timber frame builder is an awesome guy and invited us to his shop too.  We were able to see the beams up close and actually put our hands on them, just weeks before they'll be over our heads.
