The Countdown is On

Was up for just the day today, dropping off our light fixtures and bathroom fixtures.  Lots of little things going on, but they all make the house that much more awesome.  I may make another mid-week trip this week to drop off the vanities and mantle, then furniture is slated to be delivered next Saturday.

It's all coming together

Just returned from a day trip up with the family. They had not been up in about 3 weeks and were blown away by the progress. We all agreed it was tough to drive away, but the good news is that our next trip up as a family will be Columbus Day and we'll be sleeping in a finished house (hopefully). Things are close now.  Real close.

Updates for this trip included: finished tile, carpet in bedrooms, wire on the deck and balcony railings, flooring in the first floor bedroom, and more painting.

This week, interior doors go in, trim work, granite counters, interior stairs, and floors get finished I believe. My brother is going up Tuesday-Wednesday and installing internet and meeting with the dish people for TV. Appliances are also being delivered Wednesday. We'll be bringing the TV up next weekend and installing it.

Crazy how this is coming together. The calendar is marked for Columbus Day. We'll all be up for 3 nights. It's going to be insane. I can't wait.

So close now

I sent Chris a text today that read,"we're so close now I can almost smell the spilled beer on the deck." That's how close we are to being finished with the house.  We got word today that tile work has been completed, the floors have all been installed, carpet has been installed in bedrooms, and the stairs are being finished.  After that, what's left?  Not much.  In fact, we're so close now that it looks like Chris may go up mid-week next week for the appliance delivery and to meet with the Internet/TV guys.  Crazy to think that we may have internet there in a week.  All this in four months-it's insane.  Chris and I have been locking down some of the final things, including: a few final light choices, fan choices, and cabinet hardware.  One thing is for certain-Chris and I have proven that we work damn well together.  Who knows, may happen more down the line....
